Couple of never played by us games, Race to Adventure & Zeppelin Attack!

I have the role playing game Spirit of the Century, and these two games more or less build upon the theme of the RPG.  The RPG is an anything goes game of pulp adventure where you run into lost empires, talking Apes and crazy inventions, not to mention mad scientists.

First up was the diceless game Race to adventure. Each game promises to be different ans you shuffle up nine tiles then lay them out in a grid next to three tiles that represent the Empire State building (the HQ of the Century club) Your mission is to collect a stamp from each of the core tiles. These core tiles each represent a different nation (including Atlantis) Each stamp is gained by completing a mission and each country has a different criteria to complete their mission.

The game was interesting, but felt a bit like tic tac toe. There is no random element in the game which is different from most game that we play. It is a good game for a younger crowd, maybe even for someone who does not play many boardgames.

Our favorite card in the game, just a great silly picture!

Zeppelin Attack! is yet another deck building for us to try out., this one with an amusing theme! How could I resist buying something with zeppelins? Our game featured an intelligent gorilla leading his forces against a disembodied brain. It was a straight forward game well balanced and closely fought. We did mess up on one rule but I do not think it would have made that much of an impact on the game.

I would definitely play this again.
