So, we had a two player game, home brew Mystery League (a duo league) vs The Sons of the Empire league from one of the Pulp Alley books. The Empire league was played by a first time player. Well for a first time player he certainly picked up the rules pretty fast. He made great use of the cards dealt to him even though this was the first time playing with this league he picked up on the nuances of the league.
While this game counts towards the China Station that we have been playing, the actual scenario is from The Perilous Island campaign. It is a reworking of the Hildago Inferno scenario, with just the location of the action being changed.

Due to a delay event, the Mystery League's leader is delayed, only the Sidekick is deployed at the start of the game.
Mack keeps watch as Alsop tries for the plot point
Meanwhile Carnahan tries to persuade the maid to talk to him.
The Mystery League's leader arrives and skulks around looking for an opportunity to strike at the enemy
Blinky Alsop collapses never to rise again...
The Sidekick tries for the suitcase, but somehow grabbed the wrong one.
The maid eludes Carnahan and joins her mistress.
Sir John has grabbed up the chest while Jones stands ready to defend.
On turn 4 enemy agents ignite several fires!
The burning fires block movement, ultimately confining the leagues to their respective areas
The mystery league had their challenges. The leader lost one turn to delay and since he is the main plot point gatherer it was a blow to his plans. The Sons of the Empire league hit the ground running and bold action and good card play saw them through to victory (even though they dropped down to only 2 active characters by the end)
