So more ideas, not all of them are mine.
While I have moved away from Warhammer I still have fond memories of some of the quirky rules and effects. So for your consideration here are some quirky ideas mixed in with some ideas that seem somewhat reasonable.
For the most part they are untested, but we did try the artillery rules, they worked fine. Some like the oblique marching just seem reasonable as do the marching rules (I think maybe Nic talked about that)
Anyways here they are:
Interesting ideas. Regarding the column movement doesn't that rule already exist on page 36 "Units in column formation gain +1 Mov as long as they remain more than 5bw away from the closest enemy unit throughout their activation." I would be curious to try the artillery, giant and belligerent rules next time we get a game in, although if these new rules decreases the effectiveness of the units concerned shouldn't the point values be lowered to compensate?
ReplyDeleteNot that it should matter, but column movement did not include the +1 in first edition which is when this document was started. It was an idea bandied about and finally added to an update and then incorporated into the 1.2 edition on page 36. For the most part these ideas should not impact on points as there are bonuses and negatives in each modified rule. The problem I see is that it is an extra roll for potentially no change.
