Being a discussion of a truly great role playing game
published in 1977 and of the campaign that I ran,
on and off, since that time.
I started role playing with the original white box D&D set, around the time that it was released, around 1976. Our first adventure was a basic dungeon crawl, 1 DM and 3 players. A few of us took turns at the DM role, when it was my turn I made use of the Judges Guild, City State of the Invincible Overlord and the surrounding Wilder-lands of High Fantasy.

I miss the days of role playing, the utter enjoyment of being a promising new mage and being killed by a dragon in the most undignified way. Yes - those were my glory days. Memorable hours spent in a dank basement, spinning tales of wonder, throwing dice and cross-referencing the results upon legions of tables and charts. Aspiring to be great, but failing at the merciless hands of a cruel DM. ;-)
