First Chaos in Carpathia game in many years

It has been many years since we last tried this game, and I figured it was long over due for another test. Three players fought in out in this one, in a variation of one of the Cairo scenarios.
Set up saw one random character from each group placed in the centre of the table while members of their group formed up some distance behind them. There was no subtlety in this scenario, just fighting! As such it was a good test of the combat rules but, of course, did  not allow us to explore any other aspects of the game, but combat is what I wanted to see!

The groups involved were two vampire leagues, one Romanian and one Nosferatu, and a group of Werewolves. We went with teams of 250 points, as this was a test match, to get a sense of the rules. This resulted in each league fielding 4 'figures' each, including one henchmen squad. The game was set in Venice, as I still had that board set up from an earlier Pulp Alley game.

We used the card method to determine initiative, it did not go well for the Nosferatu vampires. Along with the leagues, there were innocent bystanders that could be controlled by the leagues, and were frequently used as shields!

Blink and you miss it! The opening fight saw the werewolves gang up on the Nosferatu leader reducing him to zero vitality. the pink lady vainly tried to help, but all the leader could do was to escape in bat form.

The Nosferatu leader was there a moment ago, just behind the lamp post, honest!

Time to take to the sky!

While the lady in white sought to engage the Count, Scarlett moved in to protect her man!

An overview of the battle, top left sees a werewolf and his new meat shield, the lady in red has enticed a local hotelier for a similar fate, while the primary antagonists continue to square off.

In the end, the battle did not go well for Nosferatu and his compatriots, and they were forced to withdraw from the fight. The two remaining leagues saw their blood lust quenched by the defeat of Nosferatu,  and decided to call it a night, and drifted off into the deep shadows of the city.
