Boardgame night, not a good time for our cooperative efforts!

  

This was one of the two games that we played the other boardgame night. We played three games of Sentinels of the Multiverse and one game of Eldritch Horror. We only won one game, the third Sentinels game that we played that night. The first two game the villain was Warlord Voss who beat us soundly. In the second game my second hero got to finish her first turn before we lost. Our fourth hero never got  a chance to play.

Our third game had us go up against Akash Bhuta. She gave us quite a struggle until Fanatic got her 'special' cards. Akash had a lot of limbs in play when Fanatic managed to set up one of her ongoing cards that wiped out every non character card in play, inflicting 148 points of damage to Akash Bhuta 200 HTK. Then Fanatic followed up with 25 points of damage due to her reduced hit points vs her starting points. After that, the rest was easy.

As for Eldritch Horror we have never had such a tough game, and never lost so many characters. I went through 3 characters well my coop partner went through two.

He started in Sydney and died in South Africa. His remains remained untouched for the rest of the game as there were 3 monsters standing guard over his body. He died not through combat but because we drew a card that said he lost all his body points unless we discarded two clues. It was the start of the game, we had no clues.

Next up was Lily Chen. She lasted much longer, gaining many upgrades before suddenly being consumed!

Trish was doing very well in the game until she too fell victim to a random card draw that saw her lose all her hit points with no chance to avoid that fate.

We barely got to know these two character before the track advanced to the last spot and the game ended. We have never lost that many characters before and in such a manner. sure we have seen heroes die as a result of wounds both mental and physical, but never as a result of a simple card draw that just outright killed us!
