So the joyous season is upon us again and the stores are full of gifts for all. In this instance three different dollar stores had stuff of interest to me. Two different stores, Dollar Tree & Dollars mart both carry some fine large plastic ants. At Dollar Tree they come in a variety of colours, while the other store has the same ants but in black. They are very soft/flexible plastic but should do the trick.
The giant spiders came from Dollar tree, they are erasures. They are not poseable and are quite hefty. In no way are these great figures, but if you want a lot of inexpensive spiders these might do for you. They could be dry brushed to bring out some detail and gloss varnished to make them look somewhat better. I suspect the legs are fragile, they do shake a lot, but if you mounted them on bases that should mitigate the risk of damage.
