May 30th Game day Midgard Heroic battles first of two games

 

Defenders deployment 

So, our recent gameday saw us play two games of Midgard and one game of What a Cowboy! Both Midgard games were the same scenario, The Bloody Beck but with different players and different army values. Game one saw two 450 point armies and four players battle it out while the second game saw two players using two reduced armies of 350 points each.

Orc disposition 

Mad dash across the river!

Charge and counter charge

By turn three, the last of the Empire army had arrived

Javelin armed cavalry charged the Free Lancers

Ogres managed to cross the river & crushed the fanatics

It was another close battle which ended at the end of turn 5 with an Orc defeat. Interesting neither army made any real effort to take the objectives which might have saved the Orcs. It was the largest game that we have played to date, but with four players it moved along very quickly.
