It's a bug hunt

This past weekends game day turned out to be a board game day. While the siege game was indeed still set up, the participants decided to forgo playing it out to it's conclusion. Instead the Aliens board game occupied most of the afternoon! Who am I to argue?

But first we started with a three player game of Sentinels of the Multiverse. It was an introduction to the game for two of the players, but they picked it up pretty quickly. For a novelty we won! A few more victories and we may yet reach 50%

Then we shifted over to a four player game of the Aliens board game. Two rookies and two veterans against a hoard of aliens, it wasn't pretty. We did survive the basic game, but did not extract  enough of the marines to consider it a victory.

Next we watched Spunkmeyer and Ferro get slain by a lone alien, crash the drop ship and destroying our resupply.

Finally we found ourselves trapped in the colonist facilities trying desperately to hook up with Bishop and the reserve drop ship. It was a vicious battle, vicious but funny. Apone insisted on saving one of his marines so that, that marine would then become the closest target to the alien horde, and therefore the aliens would attack the marine and not Apone. It worked for a while, but eventually the law of averages caught up, and the marine died, followed shortly by Apone.

In the end one marine and Newt made it to the air ducts, but Newt experienced too many bouts of indecision, the resulting delays proved to be their doom, and almost in sight of the exit, Newt joined all the others, all the others save Bishop who, not being on the map was spared, in cocoons awaiting a her very own face hugger.

I had a great time! It was nice to relax and just play a game that you know before you start playing that odds are you are going to lose.
